Lincolnshire Eye Directory is a directory of regional websites based in the English county of Lincolnshire.
Following these guidelines will increase the chances that a domain will be listed.
General Guidelines
We are looking for the most relevant, informative and unique
Lincolnshire websites. They must be
written in English.
- Only one listing per website is allowed. This should not be a deep link or a sub-folder. For
example, http://www.example.co.uk would be acceptable, and, more rarely,
http://subdomain.example.co.uk. But http://www.example.co.uk/somepage.html
or http://www.example.co.uk/folder/ would not.
- Websites must be concerned with Lincolnshire in some way.
- Websites selling goods or services must clearly display a telephone number and address.
Excluded sites
The following categories of site will not be accepted into the directory:
- Illegal content or content that encourages visitors to break UK or European Union law. This
includes racist, sexist, discriminatory, obscene, and libellous content.
- Adult
- Sites promoting gambling
- Sites promoting tobacco use
- Duplicate or mirror sites
- Sites consisting largely of advertisements for other sites
- Sites which fail to comply with accessibility legislation
- Sites under construction
- Pure directories and search engines
Generally discouraged
The following points will reduce the chances of a site getting listed:
- Poor spelling and grammar
- Very little content
- Markup that is not cross-browser compatible
- Excessive use of popups
- Pages that have not been updated for some time
- Broken links
